Wyatt’s Story:

Wyatt, a 33-year-old man with a lifelong battle against hydrocephalus, found himself facing an even greater challenge when he was diagnosed with Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. The diagnosis was a devastating blow, coming after years of enduring debilitating migraines and hospital visits.

It began innocently enough. During a Thanksgiving gathering in 2020, Wyatt passed out twice. Despite his family's concerns, he was dismissed by the emergency room doctors. But the symptoms persisted, growing more alarming by the day. His left eye went blind, and his hands became clenched shut.

Desperate for answers, Wyatt and his husband, David, returned to Chicago. This time, Wyatt's neurologist recognized the severity of his condition and immediately scheduled surgery to replace his malfunctioning shunt. It was during a routine post-surgery CT scan that a shocking discovery was made: lesions on Wyatt's lungs.

After weeks of aggressive antibiotic treatment, a biopsy revealed the devastating truth: Stage IV lung cancer. The news was a crushing blow, but Wyatt refused to give up. He underwent numerous tests and treatments, always hopeful for a breakthrough.
